What is the game for?
The game is simply a cheeky nod to the pointlessness of those odd times which are just long enough to feel the need to pass the time but not long enough to begin anything truly serious, like waiting 9 minutes for cookies to bake, or 3 minutes to check back in on them.
What version is the game?
It’s just v1.4 currently. The original had many bugs strewn throughout but this version solves all known bugs. Still haven't added store functionality (in-game currency only; no real purchases), but that's the next step.
What's the version history?
There were iterations prior to posting the game publicly but they were not worth sharing.
What are your plans for the game?
I’d like to expand its capability; add points logic, more challenging aspects, higher levels, etc.
What's the timer's alert sound?
The alert sound is titled “Somber Ambient piano loop 100bpm” and is by user “Boatlanman-“ on freesound.org.
Interestingly, the title uses the word “somber”, but I’d respectfully disagree with the (very talented)
creator. I think it’s beautiful, inspiring, and spacey, so I hope you like it too.
Also, a lot of online timers have alert sounds which are kind of obnoxious, so I wanted something more
calming. I want you to check your cookies like they’re awakening from a cozy little nap on a space station,
not like you’re trying to figure out whether you should cut the red wire or the blue wire in an action film.
The upload is under “Creative Commons 0” which has the description, “You can copy, modify, distribute and
perform the sound, even for commercial purposes, all without the need of asking permission to the author.”
